Crime Scene Refinements

As I was researching on the crime genre, I discovered that the genre hidden object game (sometimes called hidden picture). It falls under the genre of puzzle video game, but that is not a problem because most of the detective games are also blending in with this genre which makes it more interesting to solve the case.

Although the story and gameplay is way more realistic, L.A Noire did the same thing as the crime scene is scattered with clues and unrelated object which you as the player will need to find the evidence which connect to the crime.

Mobile games like Criminal Case, which is a detective-theme hidden object game, developed and published by French indie studio Pretty Simple are very fun game to play with. The player acts as a detective to solve murders, locating relevant clues at the crime scene by clicking items in the scene. During the course of the case, player may find killer profiles, and critical hints that will be used to capture the suspect.

In conclusion, I plan to include more items that maybe be important or not in the crime scene so player will have to find the right clue instead. My original idea which have player pick up all total 10 items in the game, which to me was quite straight forward and funny narration won't be enough to help the gameplay. Thus, I will be adding more items into the scene, just like a hidden object game but it will be in a three dimensional world.

Meaning, the player will have to move around to find the clues that are listed in a notebook. The crime scene will be more clutter but in a good way, player will have more items to interact with, and each of them will provide a short monologue from the detective himself. Only those important clues will have a special treatment when they picked up( showing glitters or sound effects to notify the player. )

Granted that the comedy genre are still in my game, the only minor changes are the items in the scene and the dialogues and (Maybe) the final clue which is the talking corpse.
