HTC Vive Setup

Now moving on to the technical side of the game. I will be using Unity 3D to develop my game. The game will be played through a HTC Vive, which is also called SteamVR. As VR is very new to me, I started checking out different tutorial videos on youtube and try to learn as much as possible so I know the limitation of my proposed VR game.

Conviniently, Unity store came with the Steam VR plugin, so all I have to do is to search for it and then download it. As for the rest of the plugins, I will update later on.

HTC Vive requires a play area of at least 2m x 1.5m (6.5ft x 5ft). The maximum supported distance between the base stations is 5m (16ft). As for the base stations, you’ll need to mount them at least 6.5 feet high, on opposite sides of the play area, facing each other. So, for the exhibition, I have to make sure I have the required space and the walls for me to mount both the base stations.

These are all the necessary things I need to take note of, as for the rest of the setups are actually quite simple.
